Montegrosso D'Asti
Among the vinyards of the Langhe, Roero, and Monferrato, in the heart of a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site the village of Montegrosso d'Asti emerges.
Most likly founded in 1134 by residents of nearby hamlets who survived a plague.
Dominated by the castle of the same name and long the scene of conflicts among noble dynastie, montgrosso today is a fascinating interwinning of art, history and culture embellished by a varied landscape.
Most likley a source of insparation for the painter Enrico Paulucci (whose mother was from Montegrosso), who often visted the area.
A walk through our old center is definitely worthwhile.

Costigliole d'Asti
The town "revolves" around the majestic castle which is now owned by the municipality and has a history of almost a thousand years. An attractive old town. The Romans were one of the first to discover the beneficial hot springs of this city. There are not many of these sources left, but in the Piazza della Bollente, in the center of the city, you will find one. The center of the city has a large shopping street (Corso Dante) with many small old streets behind it. Wonderful to stroll through and visit the shops and restaurants. On Tuesday and Friday mornings there is a large market throughout the center. |
